Christie is a 4th year student at the University of Winnipeg pursuing a double major in International Development and Human Rights and Global Studies. She lived in South Africa for six months before beginning her degree, which ignited her passion for development issues. She returned to South Africa this past summer to complete a field course with the University of Winnipeg. In addition to her regional interest in Africa, Christie is concerned with domestic sex trafficking and refugee issues in Canada, and is fascinated by the relationship between media and development. When not studying, she loves to take pictures, dream about future traveling plans, cheer for the Winnipeg Jets and play the accordion!
